We finally labelled all the bottles. I had done some research and found that using milk as an adhesive would be the best way to go. Because of the weightiness of the card stock (110lb), we had to hold it in place for a few seconds and a few labels had to be reapplied, but all in all it turned out really well in the end. Because the labels were printed on a laser printer, we didn’t have to worry about the ink bleeding during the entire process, and removal should be fairly simple and relatively pain-free.

My friend’s wife bought him a complete home-brewing setup for Christmas in 2010. So we spent the past year talking about how sweet it would be to make beer, and how awesome it would taste. However, there was some trepidation and fear as neither of us had any real experience with this before and we (at least I was) afraid of screwing up the first batch. We were perfectly content to drink beer that others had brewed for us and talk about how good “our beer” was going to be.

I made a few changes to the initial drawing, this is the final result. In the future I would like to incorporate some sort of hand-stamp shaped like a deer track.

Here are the printed labels for the neck of the bottles. I printed everything with a laser printer on 110LB matte cover stock.

This is the sheet of irregular labels for the large bottle we have, it looks a little strange here, but I think the finished product will look good.

If you couldn’t tell, everything has to be hand-cut and adhered to the bottles as I chose to use regular cover stock. I didn’t think using Avery labels would give me the control that I wanted to have over the texture and size. Stay tuned for label application!
